Our skin protects us from the world outside and it is our job to do the same for it. As skin ages and is exposed to sun and pollutants, it loses its moisture and elasticity becoming rough, dry, and dull. While you cannot stop aging, you can reverse some of the effects life has on your skin. Exfoliate in the shower with sugar or coffee scrubs, bathe in milk and honey, and nourish your skin with olive oil and oats to keep it soft, smooth, healthy, and well fed.

Coffee Grounds Scrub

Wether you like to drink coffee or not, you will definitely want to indulge in this skin awakening scrub. Coffee scrubs are used to reverse the signs of aging, lighten sun spots, reduce varicose veins and eliminate cellulite. That’s right! Caffeine is a vascular restrictor that acts to shrink blood vessels, reducing the appearance of varicose veins. It also works to redistribute fat cells beneath the skin’s surface and decrease the formation of cellulite. So exfoliate, brighten, tighten and wake up your skin with this super easy, super powerful scrub.

What you need:  1/2 cup (fresh or used) coffee grounds, 2 tbsp white or brown sugar, 1 tbsp olive oil, one small bowl

How to use it: Mix the ingredients in a small bowl, shower as usual, then turn the water off and thoroughly scrub your body with the mixture in the shower, leave on for 3-5 minutes before rinsing.

Brown Sugar and Cinnamon Scrub

What you need:  1/2 cup brown sugar, 1 tbsp honey, 1 tbsp olive oil, 1 tsp cinnamon, one small bowl or sealable container to keep the leftovers in your shower.

How to use it:  Mix the ingredients in your container, thoroughly scrub your body in the shower after washing and leave the mixture on your skin for 3-5 minutes before rinsing completely.

Chocolate Milk Bath

I don’t think I’d have to say too much to convince anyone that bathing in chocolate is a fabulous idea, but did you know that it can also help to fight the signs of aging and sun exposure? Chocolate contains many powerful antioxidants that work to combat free radical damage, smooth skin texture, and increase hydration and circulation to the skin. This simple decadent soak will please all your senses, and will help keep your skin looking young and radiant.

What you need:  2 cups milk, 1/2 cup cocoa powder, 1/3 cup honey

How to use it:  Mix the ingredients in a blender until frothy and add it to a full, hot bath once you have turned the water off. Sit back, soak away, and enjoy!
